Versilia
Versilia, whose beaches strips between Viareggio and the
stylish Forte dei Marmi, is one of the most popular
seaside resorts in Tuscany. However, apart from the famous Carnival
festival in Viareggio, few know about the historical, artistic and
acrchitectural beauties hidden in the less known towns in the hinterland,
as Pietrasanta and Camaiore.
In Viareggio we take a leisurelly stroll
along the seafront and discover some very beautiful and characteristic
buildings in the Art Nouveau style. In Pietrasanta, an ancient
little town that warmly welcomes the most famous contemporary world
artists who come here to work
marble and bronze it is also worthy of mention the interesting caves,
and sculpture labs.
In
Camaiore visitors can see its medieval village and the well-known 12th century
Pieve (church). |
