City of Lucca

This evocative town retains the charm of a small and ancient Italian City State. Over the centuries it has managed to hold on to its independence and freedom by adopting a cautious policy. Having miraculously escaped the devastation of war, today it has one of the most extraordinary Tuscany's art heritage.
The tree-lined Renaissance walls covered in trees which totally enclose the town, the maze of medieval streets flanked by towers and smart boutiques, the enchanting Romanic churches and bright inviting squares capture the visitor who stands in complete maze of such unexpected beauties. The historical centre, now a pedestrian precinct, plunges the visitor back in time and provides the perfect setting to savour the old world charm, where time and space take on a new dimension, no longer found in today's modern cities.

Garfagnana and Apuan Alps

This itinerary gives us the chance to see the incomparable landscape of the green valleys and striking mountains of Garfagnana as well as the magnificent beauty of the natural territory of the Apuane Alps. Ancient medieval villages, Romanic churches (pievi) provide the perfect backdrop to this itinerary.
Driving along the valley of Serchio river we reach the ancient town of Borgo a Mozzano. There will be a stop at the mythical Ponte del Diavolo
Barga : there you will see medieval centre with its 11th century Romanic cathedral. Inside the cathedral is an exceptionally beautiful pulpit.

Giacomo Puccini

This itinerary takes us through the very suggestive places where the famous composer Giacomo Puccini lived and which were a source of inspiration for the writing of some of his very famous works.
Lucca with the many landmarks so dear to the composer. His native home now a museum, Casa natale museo Puccini (not free entry), the historical Caffè Caselli, meeting place for musicians and students, Torre del Lago with the villa where Puccini composed his most famous works. Viareggio, with the beautiful seafront are retaining some of the most striking buildings in Art Nouveau, amongst the many is Caffé Margherita a favourite one of Puccini.

Versilia

Versilia, whose beaches strips between Viareggio and the stylish Forte dei Marmi, is one of the most popular seaside resorts in Tuscany. However, apart from the famous Carnival festival in Viareggio, few know about the historical, artistic and acrchitectural beauties hidden in the less known towns in the hinterland, as Pietrasanta and Camaiore.
In Viareggio we take a leisurelly stroll along the seafront and discover some very beautiful and characteristic buildings in the Art Nouveau style. In Pietrasanta, an ancient little town that warmly welcomes the most famous contemporary world artists who come here to work marble and bronze it is also worthy of mention the interesting caves, and sculpture labs. In Camaiore visitors can see its medieval village and the well-known 12th century Pieve (church).
